Replace a faulty dishwasher float switch with a genuine GE part
The GE WD21X479 long-lever microswitch works with the dishwasher’s float in its overfill protection system. It replaces GE flood switch WD21X0479 and is intended for dishwashers whose parts list specifies either number.

Match the part number to your dishwasher’s complete model number before ordering. For example, GE’s GSD2101N00BB body-parts diagram lists the flood switch at diagram 490 as WD21X0479, replaced by WD21X479. This is a float-operated flood switch, not a door-latch interlock switch.
Installation and safety
Have a qualified appliance technician diagnose the fault and follow the model-specific service instructions. Disconnect power at the circuit breaker and shut off the water supply before service. Never work on an energized dishwasher. Store the switch in its original packaging in a cool, dry place until installation.
