Door fit and setup
- Door thickness: 1-3/8–2 in. (35–51 mm).
- Backset: Adjustable for 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 in. (60 or 70 mm).
- Door face bore: 2-1/8 or 1-1/2 in. (54 or 38 mm); the smaller bore may require extra preparation.
- Door edge bore: 1 in. (25 mm).
- Configuration: Standard separate deadbolt, rather than a mortise, rim or integrated-handle lock.
Latch compatibility: The supplied latch has a faceplate. If your door edge is not chiseled for a faceplate, the drive-in latch shown as part B in the installation guide must be obtained separately from Kwikset; it is not included.
Install the supplied latch, strike and lock assemblies using the Kwikset installation guide. With the door open, install four AA alkaline batteries and the battery pack to run automatic door handing. Confirm smooth locking and unlocking before closing the door. Then create your Kwikset app account and follow its pairing and code-setup steps while within Bluetooth range.
Use and security reminders
Read the full installation guide before use and keep access codes private. If Auto-Lock is enabled, remove the battery pack before re-keying the lock. Dispose of used batteries according to local requirements. Kwikset cautions that no lock provides complete security on its own; consider the rest of the door and property’s security and consult a qualified locksmith when needed.

Can I unlock it from anywhere over Wi-Fi?
No. Aura uses Bluetooth for phone control, so your phone must be within Bluetooth range to lock, unlock or manage the lock.
Does it work with Alexa or Google Home?
Kwikset states that this Aura Bluetooth model does not work with Alexa or Google Home.
