What You Need and How to Use

This ice-and-salt machine needs ice, salt and chilled recipe ingredients, supplied separately. Allow approximately 1–2 medium bags of ice and 2–4 cups of salt per batch. Ice and salt go around the canister in the outer bucket, never into the ice cream mixture.

1. Chill the canister and prepared mixture. Fill the canister no more than two-thirds full, then fit the dasher, lid and motor.
2. Layer ice and salt around the canister; keep below the bucket drain opening. Plug into a 120V AC outlet to churn.
3. Unplug after about 30 minutes. Clear and wipe salt water from the canister top before opening. Transfer to a freezer-safe container for firmer ice cream.
