Setup and important limits

Install the Kidde app, create or sign into your account, choose “Add a device,” then scan the detector’s unique QR code and follow the in-app setup. A 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi network and internet access are required for remote notifications; no additional hub is required.

This is not a life-safety device. Mobile alerts are supplemental information and are not suitable for critical or life-safety monitoring. Their reliability depends on your home Wi-Fi connection. The detector alerts you to conditions; it does not shut off the water supply. Follow the Kidde 60WLDR-W user guide for placement, testing, battery replacement, and care.

Battery care and testing

Use two alkaline AA batteries; do not use lithium batteries. Test regularly as directed in the user guide, including after a drop, and replace batteries within seven days of the first low-battery warning. Clean the outside and underside contacts with a cloth dampened only with water, without detergents or solvents.

If the detector does not sound during testing, or sounds erratically or unusually quietly, Kidde says to replace the unit. This model does not interconnect with other detectors.
